American Idol Season 10 is HERE!!! and it's HOT!!!

As American Idol kicks off once again, I'm so happy to see Steven make his home in Simon's old seat. He's so raw and real and actually has a heart. I'm already bawling my eyes out and the journey has just begun.
Yesterday, Chris Medina blew everyone away with his God-given talent AND by his amazing life story. His fiance' Juliana Ramos was in a horrific car accident that left her with major brain damage months before their wedding day.

Chris told the judges there was NO WAY he'd leave her now when she needed him the most. "What kind of a man would I be," he exclaimed. It's SO REFRESHING to have positive entertainment on TV for our teens to watch and maybe even gather some courage to TRY things they are passionate about and run with it!

There is such a lack of positive role models and shows like American Idol instill hope in our teens to do something with their life and dream big - something desperately needed. I'm excited to see where this season will take us. American Idol is one of the shows I cover in the seminar Hollywood Exposed given at schools and churches around the country.

* Coach T believes we all have a talent and that it would be a shame to not develop that talent and share it with the world...be it singing, teaching, cooking...you name it.

no more 2 piece swimsuits for Miss America

Watching the Miss America Pageant brought back some crazy memories. The two hardest things I remember while competing in the Miss Los Angeles county and Miss Hollywood pageants, is learning how to play the drums for the talent competition and learning how to walk in high heels without breaking an ankle. Believe it or not, the high heels was harder to master than the drumming.

Miss America aired this past weekend and I was happy to see that one pageant didn't go down the tubes like other pageants in this sex-saturated culture of ours, but I was disgruntled about one major thing.

The girls had to prance around on stage wearing a two piece swimsuit, which looked more like lingerie than swim attire. When I competed, you were only allowed to wear a one-piece bathing suit. The judges are required to give you a score according to your health/wellness not how much cleavage you were born with (or got enhanced).

I hope Miss America goes back to their "old-school" ways in the swim suit competition with modesty as it's top priority. A one-piece suit is much more high-class. Other than that, I was very pleased with the talent, evening attire, and ambitious goals that the girls expressed throughout the show. Congratulations Teresa Scanlan - Miss Nebraska - for a job well done. You will represent the United States well as a much-needed positive role model for our "easily influenced" young women.

* Coach T thinks that all young women should try out for this pageant because it drives you to do your best while changing the world!

NFL football...Positive Entertainment! YEA!!!!

Back in high school I wanted to be the quarterback on the football team...forget the cheerleading or color guard girly-girl things. I wanted to be IN on the action. Ever since I was walking, I've been a Green Bay Packer Maniac! I loved the days of Sharpe, Majkowski, Cecil, Dent, etc. No matter what their record, Packers are the love of my life as far as football's concerned.

I am so proud of the Packers being in the playoffs even having the most injured players in the NFL and STILL getting this close to the SUPER BOWL! My heart is beating out of my chest and they don't kill the Falcons for another 2 hours!

When I give my HOLLYWOOD EXPOSED presentation there are a lot of TV shows that I expose the damaging affects of violence, sex, drugs you name it -- that our kids should steer clear from. However, NFL football is COMPLETELY CLEAN entertainment! The only major issue I have during the football games are the ads. Many show scantily dressed women dancing for a beer or underwear commercial.

* Coach T thinks we need to cheer on our favorite team, especially the PACK, but ditch the ads - do your bathroom stop or flip the burgers on the grill DURING the commercials.

and to all of you NON-Packer fans...

I've got one thing to say:
NA NA NA NA....NA NA NA NA....HEY HEY HEY... GOOD-BYE!

Airport Security Solution SOLVED! - phew!

No matter how many times I find myself going through the X Ray machine at the airport, even with a baby in tow....the alarm goes off and I'm told to "spread em."

One time I actually thought they were going to make me DRINK my son's breast milk. no joke. I miss the days of leaving the car keys IN the ignition while it was still running and turning my back for 5 min not even thinking that someone would steal it.

I miss the days of leaving the house door unlocked...now I think of the best place to store the gun in case someone breaks in during the middle of the night and I have 3 seconds to make a move or I'm dead. I miss America's innocence...

As far as the airport security is concerned...the post to the left gives the BEST solution I've heard of as far as most cost efficient, least demanding, most affective way at taking care of the "bad guys."

* Coach T thinks we all need to voice our concern when at the airport and let people know we are not cool with strangers groping us...AND to pack light...happy travels.

sTealng a fLag?? Get real...

Someone has nothing better to do in life, but to steal an American flag off an elderly woman's front lawn in Florida? That's what I woke up to this morning on 1/11/11.

Poor Millie's husband died serving our country and several grandsons are currently giving their lives for our FREEDOM overseas and someone has the audacity to steal her flag flying high in her front lawn? Do people realize that there is an option here?

If you don't like America and what it stands for. You can move out!

* Coach T believes we should show our appreciation for what the flag stands for and thank God for the freedom we take for granted each and every day.

Terror in Tucson

Red flags have been waving for months. Teachers were aware...students were scared to death to attend classes...friends knew something major was up. Why wasn't something done? Shooter Jared Loughner took the lives of six people and injured 16 (not counting the hundreds of friends and family that have been changed forever)...the youngest a nine year old girl on Saturday in Tucson, AZ. Shot point blank range.

The comment I keep hearing is that this young troubled man was someone many people were scared to be around and could easily see being a killer. Sad to say...that's exactly what happened.

It's horribly tragic that this took place, but like I've been sharing for years, if our society (specifically entertainment) continues to promote violence in all of it's media facets, we will continue to see not just crimes like this, but an escalating rise in violence in a larger magnitude than we've ever seen before.

* Coach T thinks we need to be pro-active. Protect your mind from the smut of society. Be the change you want to see in the world.

Where in the world is Roach?

After living just shy of 10 years in Hollywood Califor-NI-A, I wanted to still have a cool phrase to announce where in the world I lived...

Hollywood was a sweet place to say I was from...but after moving to Roach, Missouri, my first thought was "How in the world can I make Roach sound "cool?" Are the sweet teens I reach with the pop-culture message going to listen to a chick from Roach?? The only phrase that popped into my head a year ago when we made it into the driveway was "Coach from Roach."

The name just stuck and I'm excited to finally have a blog to reach more people with the truth...on a more regular basis.
